July 11, 2010: It is moving day today to Heron Lake State Park. The nearest tiny town is Los Ojos which looks like a European hamlet. We'll check it out sometime this week.

July 10, 2010: Today was my longest road ride since getting back on my road bike about 2 months ago. I just found a great site to keep track of my exercising at MapMyRide.com. You can view the details of todays ride by clicking the link below. After reading my comments about today's ride, click the title of the route for a detailed description of the route I road including the elevation changes.

July 6, 2010: As predicted a powerful thunderstorm arrived this afternoon with the largest hail I've seen so far. It was probably 3/4 inch in diameter, perhaps not that big for the midwest but big for someone from Oregon. It was welcome however because the storm cooled off the afternoon temperatures.

July 5, 2010: Today was moving day to Storrie Lake State Park near Las Vegas, New Mexico. This is the busiest park we have visited since coming to New Mexico. It is also the noisiest so we are cutting our camping time in half at this park. We are only about 2 miles from a super Wal-Mart if that is a plus.
