My morning began with a Zwift ride on a rainy
day. When the ride was over, I normally take a shower
however, we had no hot water. I found what I thought
was the problem with a loose wire. The installer fitted the
water heater with a 15 amp electrical plug and installed an
outlet to plug in the heater. This seemed strange to me so
I wired the heater directly to the circuit since this is a
dedicated circuit. I was also thinking at the time the heater
was a 20 amp heater and the power was passing through
the 15 amp outlet and plug. As it turned out, the heater is only
a 15 amp heater. After completing the wiring I learned the
heater still wasn't working. I watched a YouTube video and
learned how to test the element. I borrowed a volt-ohm meter
since mine was in Oregon. I tested the power first and learned
power was getting to the thermostat and the thermostat
was sending power to the element. I turned off the power
and tested the element. The test failed. I learned I
would need a special wrench to remove the element. I
searched Home Depot finding the element and the wrench
then ordered both online. I'm currently waiting for
confirmation that the package is ready to pick up. Gwen
and I have plans for tonight and tomorrow morning so
I will complete the repair tomorrow afternoon.

This was another rainy morning with slow
clearing in the afternoon. I started the morning by
getting some Cranberry Pecan bread to share with
our friends and neighbors. I then worked on preparing
photos for the photo club contest. I got Gwen's permission
to cut the TV cabinet in half. That will happen tomorrow.

The weatherman struggled with a forecast for today. He
has been forecasting rain until yesterday then changed the
forecast to little chance or rain. By this afternoon it was
raining hard and so far we have nearly a half inch of rain.
Gwen and Jeanne wanted to visit thrift stores so we went
to three after breakfast and before the rain started.
