Another long hike in the woods
with Abby this morning. Watching Buffalo
Bills vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the
afternoon. It's another hot day for us in Oregon.
We are only 6.5 degrees cooler than Tucson.

A special lunch today with
our friends Bud and Anita. While
we spend our winters in Tucson, Bud
and Anita spend their winter in
Laughlin, Nevada. It is equally sunny
and warm in Laughlin right on the Colorado
River. Bullhead City, Arizona is just across the
River only 1/4 mile from where they park their
fifth wheel. Bud likes to play golf and Anita likes
to gamble. They will arrive mid-October. We will
arrive in Tucson mid-September.

The process of getting things ready to
move back to Tucson has begun. Our friends,
Gary and Jeanne will be arriving soon with their
utility trailer to move our storage unit to their
lot in Tucson. I made a deal, he takes our storage
unit for his use, and takes several totes of stuff
belonging to us with it. He gets a free storage unit
while we get a half dozen totes of goods for us. Eventually
I well need to remove the doors and top of the
storage unit to make it easier to move. Today
I simply began sorting the totes.

Cleaning up the yard day. I pulled weeds.
I loaded the bags of weeds Gwen had already
pulled. I took those and other trash to the
dumpster. I took Abby for a hike in the
back 40.

Another warm day but 10 degrees cooler than
yesterday. Our air conditioner will ice up the coils
if set too high. That happened today. The cure is to
turn off the AC to wait for the ice to melt so we can
start it again. We decided to take ourselves to
an air conditioned restaurant to cool off for dinner.

Our morning began with Kenny Lee
arriving to gather the plants we are
giving away. We also gave her two
cedar planters I make several years ago.
I received these radios this afternoon. Since
it was 103 outside and 86 inside our trailer I
spent the entire afternoon in our clubhouse to
read the instruction manual for the radios. They
are a lot more complicated than an FRS radio and
much more range. We have two cars which must
be driven to Tucson in another month and this will
be a way to stay in touch with each other.

for full time living. Since we have been

We met our friends Glen and Kenny Lee
at our favorite breakfast location in
Glide, Oregon. The Atom Coffee Shop
not only has good coffee but good breakfast
too. We are always able to sit outside with
our dogs which makes it even more attractive.

First thing this morning, Abby went to
a Spa Day. This will be her last spa day in
Oregon. Her next spa day is already scheduled
in Tucson. I hope the current Arizona heat wave is
gone by that time. Phoenix set a new August record
today of 118. I believe Phoenix will reach 140 within
the next ten years. After dropping Abby off, I took myself
out for breakfast at a new-to-me restaurant only a mile from
our
trailer. Our plan today was to go to the Music Off Central
concert in the park only a mile away. Gwen is not feeling
well so we will listen to "Little Texas" from our gazebo.
